72 Hour Survival Kits

Answers

How well are you or your family prepared for a disaster in your area?

Do you have a 72 hour survival kit at home with 4 litres of water per person per day with enough to last a minimum of 3 days, how about food, water purification tablets, solar blankets, tarps, spare cloths, do you have a check list of emergency needs during a survival situation?

AND I MEAN EVERYTHING SO DONT ANSWER IF YOU DONT KNOW IT ALL!!!!!

Animal Traps, Flares, Down sleeping bag, Sturdy easy to put up waterproof tent, army protein bars, gun, matches, water, despite what you said you will want to have a flash light, clothing like thermals, bear safe food container stocked with army just add water type meals

What is the general aftermath of a major natural disaster?

By natural disasters, I mean disasters that affect entire states. Not little wildfires, but things such as hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. What do people tend to do? Do most people take advantage of the chaos by looting, killing, and raping? What does the government do? Does the military act quickly, or do they have to wait for an okay signal from the government after observing the situation? If they do wait, how fast on average do they act? With giant, violent riots, what do governments usually do? Has the U.S. government ever been forced to react to widespread civil unrest? Has the U.S. ever been forced into having to deploy military personnel to enforce martial law? Has the U.S. ever been forced to react to a widespread disease/bacteria/infection with military personnel? Have any penitentiaries freed prisoners due to a natural disaster? What about mental asylums? How would other countries react if the U.S. had to quarantine the country off? All answers ( that are relevant) are accepted. I'm making an emergency survival stockpile and several BOB's (bug out bags AKA 72 hour kits) and I need them to be as versatile as possible. There's no denying that something serious is going to happen in the near future. Any additional details that might help me make plans and be more prepared will be helpful. Thanks.

I have to make a 'thank you' card for my Mormon family member?

And there's this kind of awkward situation about it. It was a christmas present.

They got me a 72 hour 'End of the World' survival kit (because, you know, WW3 will be all wrapped up and taken care of in three days). It's like a crazy bum giving me a tin foil hat for christmas.

I honestly didn't know what to say, and I don't know what to say now. I don't even really want to get them a 'thank you' card.

What would you do?

If you don't want to show gratitude, that is your choice - but being grateful that you were given a gift is the human thing to do - and no these kits are for emergencies - Red Cross even suggests that everyone has them. If you don't want it - send it to them they will find someone who will appreciate your gift.

But, don't go crying to your prepared family members if you do donate it if an emergency happens.

An emergency situation can happen anywhere, so a good idea is to have 72 hour kits prepared that will aid in survival for three days.
