Army Survival Kits

I'm doing some cleaning and found an army survival kit my grandfather sent me from 2000 (Y2K scare) and it has a bunch of ready to eat, individual packaged meals. Inside are sealed pork and beans, pound cake, powder for kool-aid, apple jelly, and crackers. There are also water purifying pills. Is there any reason to keep it (the apocalypse, historical value, terrible Christmas gift to someone I hate) or should I trash it?

Trash it please.You really wouldn't want it eat it any way.

I want to bring one to school but I dont know if Ill get in trouble for it. I want to bring it because everyday my school goes to a park for P.E. and we have alot of spare time afterwards. Well I usually use a rock to sharpen this stick thing and I want to use a little knife to do it. Its nothing bad its just one that you would put in a survival kit that has like a cork opener and stuff.

Yes you will get in trouble.

ok i am only 16 and no job, so im just getting a starter hunting survival knife, like in the 25 dollar range so please no "they all suck, you need to spend more, or just save up more"

it is a little smaller then the rest, but i like how it comes with a pouch for a stone, along with the stone

Those all look like pretty decent knives for the price. As you already know, you get what you pay for. I have to admit, I own a few cheapies myself. Harbour Freight Tools sells them around here for about $8.

One of the best survifal knives I ever saw, years before the Rambo movies came-out, was the Marine Corps 7 inch fighting knife by KaBar. (Get the KaBar and not the Camillus. The KaBar is heavier.)

Look around locally and see if any sport shops sell the same things to save on shipping costs. Like I said, my local Harbour Freight store sells them and they are ok for the $8.
