We want to go somewhere like the Yukon, Alaska, the Pacific Northwest or anywhere else where we can hunt, fish, trap and survive for two weeks without any other human interaction. Obviously Alaska would be more expensive, but any advice or leads would be great. I can't seem to find a good site on the internet for a company that will help get you set up and maybe offer some training regarding the specific area's edible flora and fauna.
since I left alaska I cant remember the out fitters, but you can check on line. twin lakes area is a good spot , big lake is too crowed, but you can also look around talkeetna there will be some good connections there.
check out the smaller cities, anything that is based out of anchorage is probably over rated and over priced.
seward and homer are good jump off points.
and anywhere in the panhandle is gonna be good.

I have my trusty old and severely worn Boy Scout manual, but it's woefully behind the times. I am headed to hike around the base of Mt. Hood in September and I want to be able to prepare for the journey by acquiring all the right camping gear I possibly can. I need a resource guide for that, however, and I don't know that one really exists. Example: If I wanted to learn all about boating, I'd buy "Chapman's Guide to Piloting." Is there something like that out there that covers camping equipment, gear, technology, physical preparedness, wilderness survival techniques, etc. Thanks!
How about going to a bookstore or your local BSA and getting a current issue of the Boy Scout's Manual?
You might also want to try something like:

If you really want to get rustic, there's:
PETERSON FIELD GUIDES

I want a comprehensive, straighforward, consice survival guide, that covers as much as possible of fire starting, camp building, identifying/harbouring edible plants, and of course safety and protection from elements and creatures. I'm not too concerned with traps and hunting as that is more complex than I would like to get into now.
Specifically I am speaking of Canadian climate survival (Ontario) so if there is a book geared towards that, I would appreciate knowing.
There are many survival books out there these are my 3 favorites

I know camping during the winter, particularly in the snowy north is most definitely a different experience than camping during one of the milder seasons. I've been reading survival guides on the subject, but most of them seem to be refreshers of Boy Scout training. Is there anything I should know about this that isn't blatantly obvious?
If where you are going is fairly easy walking , take snow shoes, a snow shoe repair kit and an 8' tabogon, a ten by ten chunk of tarp and some rope. you can haul a ton of crap with you and it aint that much more work! Place the tarp on the tabogon, pointy end to front and back. put your gear on tabogon and wrap like a package and strap to your sled! I used one for a winter out in the brush once, it was a great way to haul my whole camp!

I don’t know why I took my vegan friend camping with me and my family. You’d think a vegan would know better than to trek off on a week-long vacation without an endless supply of trail mix or dried edamame, or whatever it is that vegans live off of when they’re on the road.
What can I say – she seemed open-minded to new things. We both liked spicy Indian food, backpacking through foreign lands and camping in the wilderness.
Little did I know that she wasn’t as open-minded as I thought.
My dad broke a sweat every time it came to cooking up a meal.
“Do you want cereal? Potatoes? Is it okay if I put cheese on the eggs – do you eat eggs?”
She wouldn’t eat a damned thing. She’d rather starve than eat horrid, lowly camping food.
