I want to learn everything possible. I want to be prepare for most everything.
buy and read a scouting handbook, go camping, learn by doing. there is no other way...i could sit here and quiz you for a couple days asking you about everything that could possibly go wrong when camping, and it doesn't matter if you know the right answer or not...it's all in the execution. when you do any sort of camping there aren't many emergencies that you run across, but when you come across the real big ones it is all in how fast you react, and how much experience and knowledge you have. if you're serious about learning everything get a scouting handbook, go camping, take some courses in wilderness survival, and be aware that no matter how experienced you get you're always learning and adapting out there.
ok, so it's 4:30am...i'm very tired and slightly tipsy, so this may've been a little bit hard to follow at some points, so i'm sorry for that, but i think you get the point. best of luck with your goal.
A survival kit should include essential items, such as a knife, matches or fire starters, a flashlight, a compass, a whistle, rain gear, high ...
its going to be in the woods of calhoun county in South Carolina in creston if you know where that is. we are bring a machete, canteen, army entrenching tool, knives, maybe a bb pistol for some form of protection, 2 wool blankets, and the clothes on our back.
don't forget fire starting material (go to Walmart and buy one of those flint strikers with the Magnesium bar attached) a couple of knives each and sharpening stones. Don't lay in the poison ivy. Also, just in case, empty the lint out of you dryer (great fire starter) and bring some granola bars or something like that.
Bring a poncho in case of rain, or failing that, bring a large garbage bag with holes cut for your head and arms, or wait until it rains to cut out the holes, or bring two garbage bags.
Carry a whistle of some sort in case you get lost, and in addition, don't go off alone and remain aware of landmarks and your surroundings. Three blows is the universal signal for emergency or distress.
Don't wear any perfumes, nor keep any food or hygiene products inside your tent. Everything from ants to bears are interested in eating your food. Put everything in the metal bear boxes, if provided, or inside the trunk of your car.

I've been camping and doing alot of outdoor stuff so no nead to worry. I'm testing/ showing how to use one of the survival kits I've been making for my family and friends over the years and thaught it would be best just to film me staying by my self in the outdoors for a few days/ nights. Just wondering if you have any tips or pointers?
I'll be doing this in the middle of kansas.
"You should keep enough supplies in your home to meet the needs of you and your family for at least three days. Build an emergency supply kit to take with you in an evacuation. The basics to stock in your portable kit include: water, food, battery-powered radio and flashlight with extra batteries, first aid supplies, change of clothing, blanket or sleeping bag, wrench or pliers, whistle, dust mask, plastic sheeting and duct tape, trash bags, map, a manual can opener for canned food and special items for infants, elderly, the sick or people with disabilities. Keep these items in an easy to carry container such as a covered trash container, a large backpack, or a duffle bag."
I have to go camping this weekend and i need a cheap but cute jacket to keep me warm/dry - any ideas? And any camping survival tips for a girl used to hotels!! Thanks xx
Good Guess Lauren I am a size 8!
If you live in the UK like me then go to millets ! Seriously i got the cutest mack/waterproof jacket in there.. it was pink and had little white hearts on it ! If not then try big department stalls or your nearest camping/surivial shop.
I know exactly what you mean.. i hate camping too but as long as the weathers not wet and miserable it really isnt that bad ! A few tips i would give to you is make sure in the morning that the roof/top of the tent is not anywhere near your body and that you dont touch it, as no matter if its sunny and dry or pouring down with rain, it is COVERED in dew in the morning.. i always make the mistake of quickly sitting up and brushing my back against the top of the tent which gets me SOAKED.. yuck :l
Good luck, hope ive helped and have fun :) x
How An RV Can Change The Way You Drive | Emergency Survival Gear
A nice vehicle to have during camping, touring and vacations is a n RV. The RV was specifically designed to cater to people with activities like these. RVs can be rented or if you have the budget you can go ahead and purchase one. Or you can rent one like the ones at my San Diego RV rentals to see if you would enjoy buying one.
Rvs are multipurpose vehicles. It is always surprising what the RV can do for you and most people can’t wait to drive them around. Read on to get to know the RV better as the multipurpose vehicle.
Driving an RV lessens worries when you travel. RVs consist of different equipments and tools similar to what we have in our houses. You can cook, sleep, watch TV and other things you normally do at home. The best benefit you get of having an RV is that it lets you bring your “house” everywhere. Many customers of my Campland on the Bay RV rentals tell me that is one of the favorite things about using an RV.
