I'm writing a story about kids who get stuck in the wilderness but i can't seem to find any good websites on Canadian Wilderness survival. I know I could just Look up wilderness survival, but if this story is going to work it needs to be canadian wilderness.
i need a website that will tell me animals, plants, and stuff like that in the canadian wilderness. the story is based in the woods so if you could find that i would really appriciate it
Here is a page with some broshures that might have some useful inforamation.

There is also a phone number that you might want to call to try and get more specific information.

Where in Canada would be the most ideal place to survive in the wilderness year-round? i.e. cleanest freshwater, abundance of wild edibles, least toxic fish, best climate (somewhere in British Columbia i assume), least dangerous animals (bears, wolves, etc). I know there is no place that will be perfect, but what's the best?
OK, I'm thinking B.C. for the warmer climate. Anywhere in particular that would be good to check out?
British Columbia

I am doing a school project on wilderness survival and i was wondering if there are any kinds of eggs that are not safe to eat how can you tell what kind of aminal an egg came from?
all eggs have different characteristics making them fairly easy to identify, also the habitat and type of nest are good clues, often you will find feathers in or near the nest of a bird, turtle eggs are supposed to be really good, but i have never eaten one. most eggs you find in the wild, unless freshly laid, will be fertilized and thus not good to eat. we used to keep chickens and ducks, duck eggs taste a little odd, but aren't bad
Scenario:
I'm in a wilderness survival situation. I have my fishing rod and tackle box and I just caught a big pike for food. I've cleaned the fish and put it on the fire to cook it. I have no other gear because it was in my boat that sank in 30 m of water. There is tons of bears in the area. How do I get rid of the fish smell off my hands so that I don't attract the bears to where I am or going (to get myself out of there)?
What natural things can I find in the Canadian wilderness to get rid of the fish smell?
If you have links to pictures of plants, bark, whatever, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you.
You can use the sap from a pine tree with a little charcoal, it will clean your hands, plus the dried version of the pine sap makes an excellent tinder for lighting your fire, the charcoal from your fire will also help to clean water for drinking.
This story happened in Canada during the winter months. He was on his way to California and this girl payed to fly with him... They crashed in the Canadian wilderness and were stranded for 90 days.
Such a book would be most interesting to read. I hope the title and author surfaces from another replier.
