Like I just watched Rambo and it was awesome seeing how he knew how to survive in the wlderness like it was his backyard.
I was wondering, do they teach us how to survive? incase we ever got lost in a jungle, stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean, or lost in the deserts of Iraq? Or mountains of Afghanistian?
Will they teach us survival?

Kingpin:
Height: 6' 7"
Weight: 450 lbs
The Kingpin is composed almost entirely of muscle that has been developed to enormous size, much like a sumo wrestler, and he possesses peak human strength. His vast bulk shields him from many forms of injury, either providing padding or causing penetration wounds to only strike him relatively superficially. He has extraordinary skill in hand-to-hand combat, specializing in a number of martial arts, including sumo wrestling. His fighting skills and unusual agility for a man of his size compensate for a great difference between his human level of strength and that of Spider-man when the two engage in unarmed combat (Spider-man also has severe inhibitions about using his strength against an opponent without superhuman powers for fear of killing him or her.) The Kingpin is a criminal genius and a highly skilled planner and organizer. He employs numerous henchmen, scientists, and even superhumans, almost all of whom are fiercely loyal to him due to dedication, fear, or both.
The Kingpin possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. The Kingpin is virtually as strong as it is possible for a man of his age, height, and weight to be without having superhuman strength. His great bulk does not consist of fat but of muscles that have been developed to enormous size, as in a sumo wrestler. The Kingpin can lift (press) approximately 650 pounds.
Weapons
The Kingpin sometimes carries a walking stick which contains a concealed laser beam weapon that fires a short pulse of 300 watts, enough energy to vaporize a handgun. The walking stick can also be used to fire a concentrated spray of sleeping gas. The Kingpin's diamond stickpin also contains a small, highly compressed container of sleeping gas which is effective when fired directly into an opponent's face at close range. The Kingpin uses the stickpin gas as a last resort.
The Russian
Height: 7'2"
Weight: 573 lbs
Following his resurrection and subsequent reconstruction at the hands of General Kreigkopf’s paramilitary organization, The Russian possessed a various superhuman abilities.
Bodily Reconstruction: Following his ressurection, the Russian's natural physiology was rebuilt using a combination of extremely durable metal alloys and plastics.
* Superhuman Strength: Much of the Russian's musculature and ligaments were replaced with extremely durable, but lightweight plastics, increasing his already prodigious strength to higher levels. While the exact limit of his superhuman strength wasn't known, it is known that it didn't exceed 10 tons.
* Superhuman Stamina: The Russian's dramatically altered and enhanced artificial musculature produced less fatigue toxins during physical activity than a normal human, granting him an unknown degree of superhuman stamina. He could, however, exert himself at peak capacit

And then just for convenience (and as long as I'm going all-out with this), I'll put the essays here:
1. What sets you apart from other applicants, based on unique educational or life experiences, personal or family circumstances, obstacles overcome and/or achievements? (200 words or less)
I was the victim of bullies in middle school. Being dogpiled and beaten by people who I thought were my friends was a very hurtful experience. That feeling of helplessness carried over into my life at school and at home. My grades plummeted, and eventually my parents decided to send me to a seven-week desert survival program. It was the hardest seven weeks of my life. I had several life-threatening experiences, from facing a rattlesnake, to almost falling off a cliff, to getting trapped in a five-mile-long flooded canyon, soaked in cold water, with night fast approaching. I learned that I could take control of my life and the hard situations I was facing.
Since then my grades have steadily improved, from a 1.57 GPA my first semester of high school to 3.67 this last semester. I am attending a private school and enjoying success in all aspects of my life.
The dramatic change in my high school record demonstrates that I know how to overcome difficult situations. I know that I have what it takes to succeed, and I eagerly look forward to applying it to my college education.
2. Describe why you want to attend an institution within the LDS Church Educational System and what value you will add to that institution. (200 words or less)
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area familiarized me with the views of people who do not share my values. The liberal moral values that surrounded me taught me to not only tolerate other views, but to cooperate and seek common ground. I found opportunities to share kindness and truth even when faced with persuasive or belligerent people.
I have learned the right and the wrong ways to go about my goals—whether they are to perform well with my upcoming jazz solo or to succeed in classes in anticipation of my future plans to attend business school.
With my mission rapidly approaching, I would love the new experience of an LDS environment where I can associate with those who share my standards. Church schools provide the best setting in which to prepare for my mission, graduate studies, and a future career.
My classmates who openly challenged my beliefs made me realize how fortunate I am to have firmly established faith and morals. I learned how to work with people who think differently than I do, and look forward to what I will learn as I work with people in a church university setting.
My overall GPA is a 3.0, from a 1.57 freshman, then 2.5, then 3.1, then 3.67, plus 30 credits of As from
For some reason my answer keeps getting cut off - there was actually about 2 more paragraphs there plus the rest of the sentence that got cut off. So I will be reposting this question, and using the additional details to actually get the full question in. >:(
Oh and btw your answer makes no sense :-/
27 ACT and 1880 SAT
You have good extra curriculars but that isn't all colleges look for unfortunately. Obviously, grades are more important. From my understanding BYU is not the easiest school to get into, and their average student gpa was a 3.5+.
Plus, unless I missed it, I don't see an ACT/SAT score anywhere. That is important too. If you did outstanding on that you could be set.
I don't think you can get in with a 3.0 gpa even if you did all those things above. You showed that you are improving but that can't play that big of a factor when dealing with many other students.
Lets see that ACT/SAT scores first, and then you can see where you are standing with the school, but right now it seems slim.
EDIT:
The SAT score doesn't really help because colleges look mainly at math and reading..not writing.
As for the ACT, BYU's range I believe is 25-30. You fit comfortably in the margin.
All I can tell you now, is that your ACT is good, but it isn't outstandingly good to balance out your gpa. However, it could still get you in. Good luck.

The Mermaid#39;s Tale: Ibn Khaldun, Part I: a brief diquisition on ...
We think this is greatly overstated in two ways. First, traits that are influenced by many genes (typically called 'complex' or 'multifactorial') are also affected by environments (a generic term for all things other than gene(s) one is looking at), and the trait value of an individual is not well predicted from genetic data. Second, many assumptions about what we're 'hard wired' to be like, that is, what we're genetically determined 'for', are short-sighted, based typically on the here-and-now back-strapolated to evolutionary time. Explanatory scenarios are (we think) too often built mainly on speculative Just-So stories. In the 19th century, leading social scientists clearly knew that culture...
