I know some babies at 25 weeks can survive. What is the percentage? What is it week by week? Also, I've seen rates for complications too.
It is 50-50 at 25 weeks. At 28 weeks 6 out of 10 survive. At 32 weeks 9 out of 10 survive. And at 37 weeks they are considered full term and less then one percent may not make it but most do.

like the more richer you are the less likely your child is to die.
No, it isn't. And for all of the people who simply replied that 'breeders just shouldn't breed', grow a heart. Look, I understand that the majority of everything you said is true. People shouldnt be having babies if they are unable to support them. But the question is, 'should that human life be relegated to death simply because they're idiot parent couldn't afford the necessities to sustain it?' I think not. If you can honestly say that if you had the opportunity to save a life by making a financial sacrifice, ie, one less dvd, a little less luxury in your life, that you wouldnt, then your a piece of sh*t. (Now dont take this out of context, Im fully aware that most dont live luxurious standards of life, I simply mean one less luxury in the sense of something you dont need, in other words, most of the shi t people buy these days.) I mean, think of a loved one, now lets say their only chance of living depended on a financial contribution from an outside source. Wouldn't you want somebody to help your loved one? Now I know that this is all speculative and hypothetical, but the question was whether or not infancy death rates being higher among lower income peoples is fair. The answer is no, it isnt. But too many people dont care whether its fair or not. The only thing they care about is whether or not they can buy their next 'thing' or take their next vacation, or whether or not their car is up to the social standard. I know I sound like a socialist, and that Im guilty of some of, if not most of the behaviors listed above, but hey, its true.

How to keep a child healthy if you are ever in a situation. And not just woodlands but other places you might get stranded?
i always am over packed and prepared in my vehicles enough supplies to last me a week maybe even two and some items will last for couple months such as lots cans formula and lottsss water
water is the number one thing people need to survive its more important then food because you can last longer without food then you can water and that goes for babies as well but luckily most babies can just survive on milk (formula) or your breast milk if you are breast feeding be sure to drink lots water yourself and eat if possible
but the key to surviving anywhere is to be overly packed with supplies and also to prevent being stranded is important but sometimes we cant control situations ..its better to be paranoid and over packed then to be in a situation like that without water or anything u need to live...
if you didn't have water or any of those things you would need search for water first then food then shelter i hate to list things in order but just remember WATER SHELTER FOOD or water food shelter three most important things THAT IM sure you already new
i would prep yourself off those survival shows on tv or books and if your concerned or having nightmares about this then prep yourself and be overly prepared constantly!!

I'm working on a project for infant survival and community unity. And I'm on a Undoing Institutional Racism Community Action Team. We are trying to look at ways to create awareness and address the issue. From my research, I've found that the US ranks 42nd in the world for infant mortality and third world countries beat us in providing care to infants. For African-Americans, the rate doubles where 1 in 5 infants die. And I've heard from other community members, that there is a disparity in treatment by physicians, there are stats to show the disparity based on outcomes, and then there are personal stories talking to infant mortality is not a socio-economic as African-Americans at any rung of the socio-economic ladder faces the same institutional racism growing up and their birth outcomes are still dire compared to the general population. And then again, we live in a civil technological society with the 'best' doctors and academia, but still rank in the cess pool for infant mortality..
You want to reduce infant mortality, you increase health care and dietary care for mothers before the child is born. Awareness begins with the mothers to be. Racism is not tied to infant mortality. Poverty and poor health care is.
Whatever action team this is, it is already on a loosing side by flagging "racism" in its name. Using the term only creates a bias atmosphere.
A Save the Children report last year placed the United States ahead of only Latvia, and tied with Hungary, Malta, Poland and Slovakia. What happened to "The US has the BEST medical system in the world"? Apparently only for the rich.

Think about this.
Some of the people here have commented on how many will fight for the unborn, yet not for the people once they are born. That is not altogether true. I have also found that many of those that will fight for the unborn will fight against health care for the mother in order to have a healthy baby.
I find so many contradictions when it comes to health care in this country that is baffles me.
For instance, right now we have universal health care. Our military has it, as well as our federal leadership gets to use one of the best bastions of that, the Bethesda Naval Hospital. Yet those same leaders spend enough money for several universal health care systems in our country through pork barrel politics and our belief we should be the worlds policemen. All while they get Universal Health Care we have our military, in vary strengths, be it from embassy protection to wars, in 135 countries.
I am truly baffled by how many contradictions our people allow.

and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Promote the general welfare..........there you have it, our military welfare and our federal leaders, but not THE PEOPLE.

The United States Ranks Near The Bottom For Infant Survival Rates ...

That is because we count moralities the rest of the world doesn’t. We count still births and premature births that don’t survive. including those in our statistics makes it look worse than it actually is. Some countries don’t even count a baby until it is 3 months old. The reporting is not uniform so results are skewed.
