I need to update my personal survival kit -- what is your latest?
Also need to back up an old friends survival kit from WWII. The minimum is as follows:
1. Sub-machine gun, your favorite.
2. Ammo, much as you think necessary.
3. Case of cigarettes.
4. Case of bourbon
5. Case of chocolate.
6. Case of pantyhose.
7. Case of toilet paper.
My friend's theory: Throughout history, In time of war or disaster, women always have what you need. If he is right the above barter items seem pretty good? But I am wondering if we need to substitute something in place of pantyhose? Are they still the best thing for this kit?
ps. The machine gun is just to protect the survival kit.

IMPs (Canadian ration packs) and MREs (American Rations. Also known as Meals Rejected by the Enemy/Ethiopians), are not suppsed to be availablet for resale. However, they are generally widely available at good army surplus stores.
Also, your local Cadet Corps might have some. If you ask nicely, they might be able to give you some.
Can't help you much more than that, never been out west except for a glorious four days in Esquimalt.

I hurt it biking- Flew off the bike going fast and it happened. Today I was able sprint a few hundred feet because I had to(I won't get into why), and I also walked several kilometers. While doing all this, my foot was taped up with painters masking tape, which I did by myself. I only used that because I could not find one of those 1st aid kit wraps. My q? is, should I just find a wrap n do it myself until it's better? Or go buy an actual ankle brace?
Hey There, If it does not get better you should go to the doctor. Hell I was able to do 3 day eventing (major horse competing) on a broken ankle and still it hurt but I did not know it was broken. So yeah, you should see the doc if it does not get better. The other things that you can do is apply ice, keep it elevated when you can, and wrap it. Also try some bengay on the area or the best stuff (natural) is sore no more. Anyway, good luck.
