Is anyone aware of a good outdoor/survival training school? Nothing outrageous, mainly something to get me back in touch with my natural instincts. Ideally, I'd like to hear from someone with personal experience but not a must.
Thank you!

If something happens in the outdoors, what are some things that you NEED to survive, fix minor injuries, and get found?
A compass, a small film container that has a fish hook, some line and matches inside it(waterproof), small basic first aid kit, a small pocket knife, a small mirror, a whistle, some bottled water, a flashlight, some power bars(snack bars), small box of raisins, small emergency blanket, small rain poncho, some small rope if you have room for it.
Even better to add, if you purchase one, is to get a combo handcrank flashlight/radio. Some people even put a small multi-tool in their kits like a Leatherman tool and an emergency candle, a roll of Duct Tape, a sewing needle and some thread are good too!
All of this can fit in a small day pack or backpack, easily!
I need to find a good original idea for a presentation and your ideas would be alot of help. I just need a good survival skill or trick when in the woods like camping or otherwise
I mean a skill like how to make a makeshift fishing net or knot tieing
You can purify water with the following tools. One shallow bowl or other crude water gathering device. One cup. A shovel/or any crude device to use for digging. A piece of plastic wrap/piece of tarp. A few rocks and a patch of ground with steady direct sunlight.
Here is how it works. Get all the supplies together. Dig a hole wide enough so you can sit the bowl or other water holding device in the bottom of it flat. Dig the hole deep enough to place the cup on top of the bowl and have a good 2 or 3 inches between ground level and the top of the cup. Fill the bowl with water. Sit the cup in the bowl. Now, cover the hole with the plastic wrap and secure it in place by placing some rocks on the four corners. Now, take a small rock and place it directly over the top of the cup. Leave it for a few hours and let nature do its thing.
The water in the bowl will start to evaporate and stick to the plastic wrap. When enough gathers, it will bead up and flow to the lowest point (Where you placed the small stone over the cup.) at which time it will drop into the cup. You have just sucessfully purified water.
Knowing how to gather and purify water for drinking is one of the most important skills while in the wild. The human body cannot last very long without water and drinking dirty or contaminated water will only make things worse.
Myself and 3-4 friends are into survival/bushcraft. We are all aged over 29 and responsible. We need access to some wooded land where we can have a small fire at night + live outdoors for several days at a time. Needless to say we are all respectful people and would leave the area as we had found it after use. Can anyone help us?
Not too sure about outdoor survival but I belong to a Sussex group called the Sussex Long Distance Walkers who are part of the Long Distance Walkers Association.
We walk at least once a month, usually distances of 20-22 miles with a lunch break either at a pub or a picnic.
As we cover all areas of Sussex try joining us (it's all free) and you will see parts of the county that you didn't know existed.

outdoor survival skill
The owner of the house moving in and he’s allergic to cats, since my mom cat take my cat for a couple of months, which I’d rather keep him with me anyway, my new roomate and I have agreed the cats inside time can be confined to my room, I have the master bedroom and built a loft for my bed, its 300+s.f. And I can build an enclosure so he can have outside access, (my kitty has no out door survival skills, indoors his whole life)
any ideas on something simple to build
If you can build a simple wood frame, you could surround it with chicken wire. It's relatively cheap and seems like the least complicated thing you could do here.
