Student Survival Kits

Through Project Leadership, we are having a senior send off for seniors who are going to college or entering the workforce. One component of our project is a Survival kit or bag of goodies. Everything that we are doing requires sponsorship, so it can't be anything too pricey. Any suggestions?

Shampoo, anti-perspirant, razors, shaving gel or cream, sanitary supplies, tooth paste, soap, pens, notebook, address book, microwave popcorn, bottled water, raincoat, water bottle, small sticky notes, wipe off bulletin board, face cloths, towel, moisturizer, lip balm, kleenex, paper clips, stapler, staples, scotch tape, bulletin board stick pins, laundry bag, laundry soap, thermos cup ... will add more if I think of more ...

For my cousin's graduation I want to put together a goofy survival kit. She is moving into the dorms for her first year of college in August. This is for a high school graduation. I'm thinking things like Ramen noodles, sampes of Tide and quarters for laundry. Any other suggestions? She isn't taking a car, so gas gift cards are out, but I was thinking maybe a McDonalds gift card. I don't want to spend too much and it has to travel by plane since we will be flying out to see her.

Inexpensive but tacky bath robe.
Emersion heating coil for boiling water in a coffee cup.
Tea bags, cocoa, and coffee singles.
Magazines like Cosmopolitan and Time.
Check out the electronic game aisle for an electronic version of the Magic 8 ball.
Tacky nail polish from the discount bin of some store.
Ugly but usable house shoes.
Bottle of cold medicine, flu medicine, anti-diarrhea medicine, etc.

Maybe you could get an email started around the family asking them for common sense advice tips for people moving into a dorm. Print all of that up and staple it together as a book to give to her as well.

Have fun. Sounds like you'll have as good a time putting it all together as she will have using it.

Hi, my friend's starting uni in Sept and it's her bday in August so thought I'd make her a 'student survival kit' for when she goes. So far I'm gonna put in it - student cookbook, earplugs (incase her halls are as noisy at 4am as mine were), attack alarm on a keyring, a little sachet of washing powder, USB memory stick/flash drive thing, shot glasses, alka seltzers and maybe a student diary. Any other ideas? What did you wish you'd had when you first arrived at uni?

I am completing my student teaching experience in two weeks and I would like to give something to all the students. Noting big but something for the student to remember me by. Any ideas would be great! Any poems or survival kit ideas. I have the following kit for students but I was hopping for something better fit to leaving.
The items in this bag have special meaning:
* The cotton ball is to remind you that this room is full of kind words and warm feelings.
* The chocolate kiss is to comfort you when you are feeling sad.
* The tissue is to remind you to help dry someones tears.
* The sticker is to remind you that we all stick together and help each other.
* The star is to remind you to shine and always try your best.
* The gold thread is to remind you that friendship ties our hearts together.
* The rubber band is to remind you to hug someone.
* The penny is to remind you that you are valuable and special.
* The toothpick is to remind you to "pick out" the good qualities in your classmates.
* The bandage is to heal hurt feelings in your friends and in yourself.
* The eraser is to remind you that we all make mistakes, and that is okay.
* The Life Savers are to remind you that you can come to me if you need someone to talk to.
