for example the straps that you put around your sholders are made out of useable rope a good knife and other things that you would need

can anyone make a lift of what i would need to make the ultiment survive backpack

hammock, knife, rope, blankets and (something fun like cards etc) games.

leatherman that has can opener, blade, saw, other tools, flashlight, mirror, flares, mirror, matches, fishing kit(hooks of different sizes, line), sleeping bag, wire for a snare, rope, canned food, few ziplock bags, extra socks, clothes, rain gear, compass, map of area, pictures of family, walkie talkies, pistol, ammo, beanie, tarp, cell phone, gps, extra batteries, neck gator, knife sharpener, magnifying glass, ,,, depending on weather and geo location,,,

where do you plan on getting lost lol... survival books are awesome.. I keep one in my emergency backpack...

National forests are run by the Department of Agriculture, Firearms have always been allowed in the as long as you stayed within State law....

I have open carried a loaded firearm in National forests for years, Have interacted with several rangers and never had a problem....

National PARKS are run by the departmnet of the interior, They were no firearms up until reciently , The Department of the interior just announced a rule change allowing the carrying of firearms in national PARKS , again so long as you obeys state laws pertaining to Carrying a firearm......

NOW... Carrying an unloaded, encased gun in a backpack is NOT considered carrying a firearm in almost all states and you would have no problem,

opencarry.org ... is a good reference to find out what the laws are by state pertaining to carrying a LOADED and accessable firearm , whether a permit is needed and wheather you need to carry it explosed or concealed....

When I get my motorcycle I wanna know what goes in those backpacks since 99% of bikers have them. I can just assume the obvious stuff, but since most bikers have them is there something I dont know? Like do they put survival things in them or what or just normal things you would carry with you? Also can you keep napalm in a tin safely? or is there another way to keep a burning product with you in a survival case/tin safely. Napalm as in gasoline+Styrofoam.

what are you carrying napalm with you on a bike for? you put what ever you want in them but i wouldn't carry napalm with me

I want a very high quality trekking / survival camp backpack. I was strongly considering the camelbak - scorpius for around 600usd. Do I need to pay this much for a good quality bag? My limit is around 1000, but maybe there is no reason not to buy a 200 dollar model? Also, I will likely use this bag to 'bug-out' should the need arise. What do experienced trekkers/survivalis have to say?

if you are looking for a military type pack - I have no idea
a good internal frame pack can easily be purchased for well under $500
Backpacker magazine just came out with their "Gear Guide" issue that lists most manufacturers, specifications, and costs
not sure if you are in US but you can take a look at http://www.rei.com/
they have a pretty good cross section of normal backpacking gear
also suggest Colin Fletcher's "The Complete Walker" for educational value
