Survival bag?

My dad has to leave for reasons I don't really want to talk about. But for a while he will prob. be living where this is no heat or furniture. So i am making him a survival bag. Any ideas of what should be in it? So far I have:
-a small thin blanket
-a sheet
-2 pillow cases
-a towel
-2 wash cloths
-my old mp3 player with his oldies songs on it.
- Batteries (i have c and some aa im gonna get some aaa)
-a binder
-alot of paper
-3 small notepads
-a compostition notebook
-a folder
-pens
-playing cards
-a wordserch
-5 pairs of socks
-a plain white shirt
-a small pillow
-3 razors
-a nail clipers
and i think that is it.
The smaller stuff is in a shoe box and the shoe box and the other stuff are in a big black bag.

I want to give him some money, but i don't have alot. I have like 42 dollars how much should i give him? all of it? 30? idk.
What else should i put in there?
no lol not prison, but he did something stupid while driving and he was speeding and the cop pulled him over and just kept pulling random tickets out...so he lsot his job as a driver and cant pay the rent...so he is going to live with this lady we know....she is old and is giving him her bottom floor, but it isnt fixed up or anything...im jsut trying to make it easier for him.

You absolute sweet girl, thinking of your father like this.
Definitely put in a photo of you, and a letter you write to him to let him know how much you love him.
That will surely be his favourite thing.

As for the rest,
I think more is good, unless space is limited.

Give him your love
That is what holds all people in times of "pure survival"

Blessings to you
Peace in the heart

What would you bring with you in a survival bag?

You have to run away on foot with a backpack full of...

Water, bandages, pocketknife or combo thingy with spoon/fork/knife, sanitary items, dried fruit, vitamin tablets, batteries, firestarter, plastic bag for rain gear, clean socks and underwear, signal mirror, small radio, some cash including loose change for phones, cap with visor to protect your eyes, a few packs of salt (your body needs it), a bit of rope for tourniquet in case of injury. There are tons of survival sites with such info.

Wilderness tracking/survival bag (Alice, MOLLE, or tactical vest, or belt??)?

I have begun making a kit for tracking and I was wondering what kind of bag I should use. I feel like the Alice or MOLLE type is too big I just don't have that much equipment and I don't want to walk through the woods with a manpurse.

Can anyone recommend a good small survival bag, vest, or belt that might fit my needs?

Lapolicegear has good tactical style backpacks for as low as about 40 bucks if you can find one in the closeout section.
http://www.lapolicegear.com/blblouhupa2. html ( first pic shows a hunting style camo but its really ACU)
http://www.lapolicegear.com/blphpa.html ( little more expensive then the other packs but very durable)
http://www.lapolicegear.com/diplomat-2da y-sorte-backpack.html ( only 18 bucks, I'd be skeptical of the quality but ive bought some cheap stuff from this site before and all of it has held up very well so far)
http://www.lapolicegear.com/diplomat-3-d ay-backpack1.html ( personally own this pack and for the price of 30 bucks I don't think you'll find a better one, it is a fairly large pack though but not nearly the size of a molle pack and it comes with compression straps if you do have some extra room)
http://www.lapolicegear.com/medium-modul ar-style-assault-pack.html ( have this one too, about the same quality as the one before this but smaller)

and they have a bunch of pouches you can attach for radio's, ammo, flares, first aid kits, land nav gear, and whatever else you may need to keep outside your main pack for quick access here
http://www.lapolicegear.com/blackhawk-cl oseouts.html

Personally though I find there is no such things as too much gear so I prefer the big ass molle pack. I use the extra room to store things that I don't necessarily need to survive but are helpful to have like a couple changes of socks underwear and undershirts, cold weather gear, a sleeping bag, some rope, a basic hygiene kit( pretty much just baby wipes, a tooth brush and wash cloth) and extra food and water. Most of that stuff specifically the clothing doesnt add much weight to the pack its just takes up a good deal of room and with the molle pack you can keep enough shit in there to be almost comfortable living in the field for a few weeks.

carrying an AR-7 as part of a survival bag?

what is the legality of carrying an AR-7 in a survival bag. say, for instance, I end up lost in the wilderness with nothing but my survival kit and end up with being found by a cop and he finds the AR-7 and I don't have a CC permit on me (obviously in that situtation).

An Ar-7 is a fine rifle but for the money a stainless steel barreled Ruger 10/22 with a folding stock would be just as good. Plus there is like a million add on goodies you can get for the Ruger that can help to truly make it a survival weapon.

As for your legal concerns you don't need to worry about a concealed carry permit because it is a rifle and as long as some of it remains visible in your pack it is not concealed. But if you plan on spending lots of time in the woods you need to realize the local game warden may think your poaching. The .22 is a favorite of poachers and its your word against his as to how the situation goes down.

  • What do ramblers keep in their rucksacks? | Cyber Snaps !

When I go hiking (always with friends – never go alone!!!), I take a map, compass, food and drink supplies. I also carry a mobile phone (with extra sim cards on different networks), a good first aid kit, a foil blanket and high energy snacks (such as Kendal Mint Cake). I also take a change of lightweight, warm clothes and thick socks.

The rucksacks are actually quite lightweight and look more cumbersome than they actually are.
