At any rate, many Christians claim that the Bible improves lives, grants morality, etc. I was observing that the Natives were getting along fine without it, and their lives SEEMED to be better prior to its introduction. I did not say that its introduction worsened their lives...but it did not make them substantially better. You're putting words in my mouth.

If I want to stick my foot in my mouth, I don't need any help doing so.
Eric M - So the extermination of the buffalo, numerous massacres, literal extinction of several tribes through slavery and murder, introduction of small pox, and of course the loss of homelands...those were a vast improvement over their pre-European lives?
Priscilla - You seem to know quite a bit about Native Americans, but you seem to be overlooking the Spanish missions built by slave labor, for the sake of 'saving' the Natives.

i'm native. all christianity ever brought us was death and suffering. we always say "we never had a devil or a hell, but then the christians came and we have had both ever since."

somebody told me the reason why she don't believe in the bible is because she's all about "survival of the fittest" mind frame, meaning she will do whatever it takes to get ahead in life....including stealing, etc...I need a rebuttal

She's referring to the scientific theory of evolution, which is not in the Bible. Read "Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin for a thorough explanation of the concept of "survival of the fittest," which is also known as "natural selection."
