What are the necessary survival tools/gear/equipment/supplies I would need to last seven days in the wild?

Any specific products would be appreciated.

I am thinking a knife, axe, machete, matches, sleeping bag, tent, rope, Swiss Army knife, ???

I am researching a similar subject for a book I'm working on, and I discovered the following site. Sorry if you have to copy and paste, but it is definitely checking out.

My 18yr graduates in 2010 and wants to go on a survival or adventure trip. Any idea's ?

Right know he is thinking of a trip with his cousin to Belize for a week in the jungle with only a camera and machete. His mother would like to see a trip that includes a guide. He has traveled to 18 counties, so he is aware of what to watch out for. I can go with the guide plan, he has done the inca trail, Angel falls, Bolivia high desert, Patagonia.

The West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. I know its not exotic but it takes around 7 days to complete and is known around the world.

Me and a friend are planning on going "survival camping" any tips?

its going to be in the woods of calhoun county in South Carolina in creston if you know where that is. we are bring a machete, canteen, army entrenching tool, knives, maybe a bb pistol for some form of protection, 2 wool blankets, and the clothes on our back.

don't forget fire starting material (go to Walmart and buy one of those flint strikers with the Magnesium bar attached) a couple of knives each and sharpening stones. Don't lay in the poison ivy. Also, just in case, empty the lint out of you dryer (great fire starter) and bring some granola bars or something like that.

These are my 2 main options, but feel free to give better ones. should have survival kit in it just in case. machete funcinality should be a priority, but again. Feel free to give better sugestions.

I strongly recommend the USMC fighting knife, or "Ka-Bar". Extremely durable, keeps an edge. The leather handle gives a positive grip. The blued surface prevents reflections. Works well as a small machete. Open a can with it and then turn around and shave with it without nicking yourself. You'll probably need a diamond stone to sharpen it. After 24 years I've yet to wear one out and only had to buy a second one due to the first being stolen. This is the knife originally designed for the USMC Raider battalions of WW II but now treasured by Marines all over. Members of other services now purchase them, too. Get one made by the actual Ka-bar company, not an imitation. The imitations are not as durable.

Thank you for finishing up that comment the way you should have, we were once like that and through centuries of disease, war, starvation and eventually invention and government we are no longer. thats the only thing that seperates us from them, the evolution of our culture. too many whites look at the third world and go “oh i feel so bad, lets solve the problem by bringing them all here” or worse “lets transplant democracy” a dark age will come if we continue to deny our own history.
