i had a miscarriage about a month ago and i found out the other night i am pregnant again (i didnt go though another cycle). what are the chances of survival and the risk of the pregnancy??
Was it your first miscarriage?? If so, then the two will most likely not be linked. Most women can have a perfectly normal pregnancy right after miscarriage, even if you don't go through a cycle before becoming pregnant again. Good luck and congratulations!!

An example: If your boss is your best friend and the company goes bankrupt and everyone else leaves, how long would you stay with him/her and the company out of loyalty? Or would you leave immediately because you need money to survive? If you stay, does your loyalty eventually run out?
Would you stay with someone out of loyalty and risk your very own survival?
I think this is an individual thing. It would depend on the person. I also think the answer might change depending upon the age of the person. For example, when we're younger, we tend to believe that things will get better and we have the time to wait it out... as we get older we begin to view time differently and we might be quicker to leave a situation that didn't look good. Financial security would play a part as well. If we are able to stick a situation out because we have the funds to do so, that would be a factor as well. I think it would depend on these variables and the individual. But bottom line.. I think overall with everyone, survival comes first.
I don't think it's at any more risk now than it ever was before. I think as long as we take care of each other and take care of our environment then everything should be alright.
My grandmother is having a brain operation (the one where they are cutting into her skull not the coil operation because that one failed) and i just wanted to know the risk and the chance of survival etc. I want to know the facts.
I failed to mention it is because of a brain aneurysm
I work in Neurosurgery.
The aneurysm operation has the possibility (possibility, not every case) of paralising some parts of the body. This is the most common side-effect.
But it can be life-saving (you may need to sacrifice a part of your body function to reduce the risk of death). Surgeons usually operates for aneurysm that are more then 5 cm diameter & not-approachable by coils. If you don't go for the surgery for such kind of aneurysm, there is high chance of bleeding (hemorrhage) inside brain, and in that the patient will have a very short time for surgery (Failure to do an emergency surgery at that time may lead to death. Even if the patient may be saved at an emergency surgery, there is increased risk of disability)
And in case of any brain surgery you have posiblities of many other side-effects, just like other surgeries.
Surgeons usually calculate the risk-benefit ratio. So if your grandma is taking surgery under some qualified surgeon in some good center, try to gain confidence & pray to God (according to your religion).
Good luck.

Painkiller Can Boost Breast Cancer Survival Rates
London, Feb 18 – Women with breast cancer who take aspirin at least twice a week can more than double their chance of survival, a media report said citing researchers.
The greatest protection comes from taking the drug two, three, four or five times a week, a study has found.
They cut the risk of dying by 71 percent and the risk of the cancer spreading by 60 percent, the Daily Mail reported on its website Wednesday.
Taking aspirin on six or seven days cut the death risk by 64 percent, but the risk of spreading fell only 43 percent.
The findings of the US study provide the most compelling evidence yet of the power of the cheap painkiller.
Previous research has suggested that aspirin can protect against bowel cancer, although results for other cancers, such as breast and prostate, were less clear-cut.
