Survival Sickness

Just out of curiosity... Based on the details unique to the Spanish flu, with knowledge of it, what could one have done to beat the sickness?

apparently social distancing worked very well. But people this flu isnt even bad. The American news dramatizes over it WAYYY more than the Canadian news. It talks about it for 3 minutes on Global and 2day they even said that the swine flu symptoms were milder then the symptoms of the regular seasonal flu... and I dont see anyone freaking out about that flu...

my family member diagnosed has a stage 2 colon cancer..i am very much scared and feeling hopeless,when i heard after operation he need a chemotherapy for survival, i had a bad feeling every time i heard a chemotherapy beacause all people ive known that undergo for this therapy is nothings happen.,please help us and pray for us.

Mark I feel sorry for you. If you only knew who prayer helped. Please don't dismiss it until you've tired it. Prayers work wonders. If it wasn't for prayers, my sister would not be here today. What's the harm in trying both. Chemo and prayer. and I don't care in the least how many thumbs down I get because nothing will sway me either way.

My dog is a 13 year old female golden retriever. She is in reasonably good health given her age, but after going to the vets following some sickness two weeks ago the vet noticed a breast tumor. Apparently it has been caught reasonably early and is benign so can be removed via surgery, scheduled for thursday. My only concern is the shuffling of feet that goes on every time i question the safety of the operation. Realistically, can someone please tell me what the chances are of survival?

Chances of survival are good when removing tumors. The thing that most people worry about is the anesthetic. Our hospital uses propafol. Make sure the hospital you go to uses it on her, if not go somewhere that uses it. Also, make sure they do pre-surgical blood work before hand and have her on fluids. This is the procedure for our animal hospital and we haven't lost a dog on the table since i've been here because of the anesthetic. Make sure these are in place and you will be fine. Definitely make sure they do pre-surgical blood work!

Many people believe that evolution is the answer to how we came to be on this planet. This is not an argument "for" or "against" evolution. Quite simply: Where does love come from and how can survival of the fittest, which is essencially selfish, reconcile with the necessity of love?

Survival of the fittest - or Natural Selection is a process that can only take place if we allow nature decide who lives, dies and reproduces. With the advent of medical science, nature is
having less and less to do with survival. Everytime medical science saves someone's life, or just cures an illness then natural selection is over-ridden. So to a large degree we are no longer controlled by natural selection anyway.Natural Selection is about the survival and development of species. Bonding between individuals is essential for forming the basis of social relationships - such as family. For most species, this is necessary for their very survival. The young may require the protection of family to mature and reproduce.... and so on.
As for the kind of love that is expressed when a person willingly dies for someone else - that is supernatural - from God.

Protect yourself by keeping a lighted fire with you at all times preferably burning dung or something smelly to help Keep the away.

As for disease your bes bet would be covering all exposed skin to keep insects from biting and boil water catching the steand with a tard or leaf and then drinking that. That greatly reduces harmful bacteria count.... Never drink water from a hot water spring... the bacterai there are naturaly immune to heat...
