Survival Suit

When it comes to freezing water what does a survival suit have that a dry suit doesn't that makes a survival suit better

1/ Better insulation
2/ They're coloured bright orange/red with reflective strips making you easier to see. Floating around nice and warm doesn't do much for your long term survival if your rescuers can't find you.
3/Many are equipped with water activated strobes and some with ELTs ( Emergency Locator Transmitters)
4/ The hoods on a survival suit have any dry suit's hood beat by a country mile for warmth.

Seriously, how does it keep people warm?

Well, I though ta survival suit was an aluminized blanket that keeps you warm by reflecting back the infrared heat coming off your body (the same heat infrared cameras see at nighttime from bad guys and such)

They will die under 5 min in the freezing water without their survival suits on, so why don't they wear them all the time. They can get thrown overboard at anytime! If it's a warmth factor can't they just cover up with more clothes on over the suit?

The suits are thick and it's hard to move around with them on.

I will be swimming in water that is freezing. Should I get a Dry Suit or a Survival Suit? How long will each one let me stay in the water?

in a dry suit you can swim somewhat without flippers....a survival suit is very bulky..you'd be like a turtle on his back...you can stay in the water longest with a dry suit if you have closed gloves...and longer in a survival suit if it doesn't leak...both about 5-10 hours depending on the temperature and your comfort level

If organisms are not suited for their environment, they will die off and be fossilized. The ones well suited for their environment will continue to live and reproduce and those traits that help it survive will be passed to its offspring. Once those die, their remains will be fossilized, and you will see the process of evolution. You will see the changes in the species and how those traits that help it survive will be more common in fossils and that species.
