Survival Supply

I am thinking about if I have to live of the wild and i wanted to study up on survival without supplies, basically living off the wild. If there isn't a book like that then please included one that has very few supplies needed.

Essential supplies to stock up on while you still can. Anything can happen in these uncertain times. It#39;ll happen when you least expect it ...

...as we know it. meaning surviving in the city or traveling to less populated areas in the times we are accustomed to now. Being able to fend for myself. i'm just wondering what things i should be stocking up on, buying, looking for etc. And looking for some tactics to purify water, air (gas masks?) and finding food. Tactics & supplies is what i am looking for that applies to the modern world if it were to turn chaotic and fall apart. Thanks.

i want to go somewhere with my friends (i live in north texas) where i can bring some survival supplies and then build a shelter and fire and see how long we can survive kinda like on man vs wild. or a kinda of hiking place that would let me do this or any good spots or something please.

Well if you want to practice like they do then you'll have to have someone go ahead of you and leave some perfectly preserved dead animals for you to eat and supplies.

Those shows are a crock. You will not find a preserved dead animal lying around in the woods to eat, hell you'll be lucky to find a rotten one. One show the guy found a frozen dead animal right next to a boiling hot spring to cook it in, yeah like thats going to happen. What morons




I do this yearly on the Ouachita Trail that runs 226 miles through Oklahoma and Arkansas. Best time is in the spring when water supply and food are abundant.

I have made the whole trip several times without seeing anyone. Most I have ever seen on a trip was 3.

This is no joke. A young guy died a few months ago on the Ozark trail. If you are not confident in your ability then go camp in a park. There are dangerous animals, fugitives from the law, and the entire trail is up and down mountain peaks. Cell phone service is only available on about 30% of the trail at best.

The less you bring, the easier it is on you. But that means making what you need yourself and having the ability to produce your own food. Last trip I spent 4 days eating crawfish and blackberries before I got myself a real meal.

There is more than a million acres of untouched and unfragmented natural habitat in the Ouachita national forrest. Its a amazing place.

I have my first supply job next week....i was told that although most of the time there is work left for the class this is not always the case and to go prepared with an emergancy excercise or something....
Any ideas what to take and any advice to help me survive the day??!!
Ps...im secondary and my subject is art although this job is just for general subjects.

I worked with a supply teacher who always gave an extra assignment and pretended that it was from their teacher. As a teacher I do not like that because it could mess up my plans for the next day.

I know others who would get some word searches or crosswords and do it like a race. The first 3 to finish got a piece of candy.

You could also do a word scramble where you give them mixed up words to unscramble. They should work in small groups. The first group done wins. You can make your own puzzles at www.puzzlemaker.com. Or play scattergories in small groups. Give them a category like farm animals. They have 1 minute to write as many as they can come up with. All animals that are repeated are crossed off (for example if I write goat and someone else did the word goat does not count). Those who came up with something that no one else thought of will get a point. You can do several categories. The one with the most points at the end wins. You can choose categories that have to do with the subject you are teaching.
