it has a wire saw,snare wire,flint striker, purification tablets,matches etc..
i meant in my check in.. im not the next saddam husain or anything its just a survival tin i bought at a camping shop

Only in your check in, and then I would site reasons why you are carrying that stuff. You CANNOT carry it on the plane.

The tin is a rectangular prism. 3 1/2 inches(length)x 2 inches(width) x 3/4 inch (height)

What kind of a survival kit? Lost in the woods? Adrift at sea? Desert? Arctic?

What are some necessary items for my Altoids Survival Tin and what are all of each item's uses???

First of all, I think the idea that you have to fit everything into a tiny tin is faulty because this is about survival and you can obviously carry much more and in many and varied ways. Would you rather carry what you think you'll actually need or try to get by on what you can fit in your tin?

For day hiking I carry a lighter, a spare lighter in another place, magnesium fire starter, Coghlan's Signal Mirror, 4AAA LED flashlight, PT Pulsar flashlight, Mini Fox 40 whistle, large plastic garbage bag (shelter/poncho), emergency mylar blanket, first aid kit, fleece hat, raincoat, umbrella, and extra food. If I'm going somewhere with water not contaminated with pesticides (Bay Area vs. Sierra) I carry a water filter, if not I carry more than enough water for the entire hike. I carry all these things in a zippered mesh bag, in zip locks bags, or just in my pack pockets.

what should i include in it?

heres what i got so far

lots of matches (maybe a lighter)
ill be using the tin to contain water to heat(boil) to purifi

chicken billion cube

anything else i should add and why

What you need in it is:

Fishing Line & hooks

Knife

Band-Aids

Aluminum Foil

Tea Bag

Button Compass

Water Purification Tabs (Iodine)

Wire saw

Advil

Cotton Balls Soaked in Vaseline

Duct Tape

Rope

Zip-Lock bag

If you have these items it will make it A LOT easier to survive.

their just normal tobaco tins, so a tobacconist or a "head shop"
to water proof them just put some tape around the seal or put them in a plastic bag
